The death sentence of a Baloch prisoner with the identity of Hasan Gergij, who was previously sentenced to death for intentional murder, was carried out in Zahedan Central Prison.
According to the report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at dawn on Saturday, January 20, 2024, the death sentence of 23-year-old Hassan Gergij, a resident of Zahedan, was carried out in the central prison of this city.
According to the Halavesh newsgroup, Hassan Gergij was arrested three years ago on the charge of intentional murder in Zabul City and later sentenced to death by the judicial system of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The news of the execution of this prisoner has not been announced in the Iranian state media, especially the media close to the judiciary.
Based on the statistics registered in the Statistics and Documents Center of Hengaw, in 2023, at least 183 Baloch prisoners were executed in the prisons of the Islamic Republic of Iran, which is equivalent to more than 22.8% of all executions carried out in Iran.
