The death sentence implementations of Fazel Shafiei and Morteza Nadimi were implemented in Shiraz Central Prison. These individuals faced death sentences for charges of drug-related crimes. Simultaneously, another death sentence was implemented for an inmate charged with homicide.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, the death sentences of 40-year old Fazel Shafiei and 35-year-old Morteza Nadimi were carried out in Shiraz Central (Adel Abad) prison.

Citing the IHR (Iran Human Rights), Fazel Shafiei and Morteza Nadimi were respectively apprehended 4 and 2 years ago for drug-related crime charges and subsequently given capital punishment by the judicial system of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

According to this report, the death sentence of another male prisoner whose identity is yet to be verified has been implemented in Pir-Bano prison. This prisoner was taken into custody and convicted of a death sentence for a homicide charge.

There has been a notable silence on news coverage regarding these executions from government media outlets, particularly those that are affiliated with the judicial system of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
