Kurdish political prisoner was released at the age of 60 and after 20 years in prison

Hengaw: A political prisoner from Sarpol-e Zahab was released after 20-years imprisonment from the central Kermanshah Prison.

Mahmoud Ghaderi, a political prisoner from the city of Sarpol-e Zahab, was released from Dizel Abad prison in Kermanshah after serving 20 years in prison and after reaching him to the age of 60.

In 2000, Mahmud Ghaderi was arrested by intelligence forces Kermanshah and sentenced to death by the Revolutionary Court of the city on charges of "membership in the Kurdish opposition parties and the campaign of armed struggle with the government".

The sentence was reduced to life imprisonment after appeals.

Mahmoud Ghaderi was in Ramadi refugee camp in Iraq for several years and was also a member of the Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan (PDKI). However, he was released on April 5, 2019, after reaching the age of 60. He was released after 20 years in prison.

He returned to Iran in 1997 and was arrested for 6 months and arrested for the second time in 2000.

During the past 20 years, no news about this political prisoner has been published in any media.
