In 2021, more than 8% of all executed prisoners in the world were Kurdish prisoners in Iran

According to Amnesty International's annual report on executions in 2021ith the exception of China, where the number of executions is unknown, at least 597 prisoners have been executed in 17 other countries. Comparing the statistics of this organization with the statistics recorded in the Statistics Center of Hengaw Human Rights Organization, it can be said that more than 8.2% of all executions in the world last year were Kurdish citizens in Iran. 
 
According to Amnesty International's annual report in 2021, the death penalty was imposed in only 18 countries, including China, Iran, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Iraq, Somalia, Yemen, South Sudan, Bangladesh, Belarus, Botswana, Oman, North Korea, Vietnam, Japan, the United Arab Emirates, and the United States. 597 prisoners have been executed in 17 other countries except for China, and it increased by 20% over last year. In 144 other countries, the death penalty has not been carried out during 2021. 
 
According to the report, in 2021, at least 314 prisoners were executed in the prisons in Iran. Iran, after China, has the highest number of executions, which includes 54% of all executions in the world last year. 
 
According to statistics previously published by Hengaw Human Rights Organization, in 2021, at least 48 Kurdish prisoners were executed in the prisons in Iran, which compared to Amnesty International statistics, shows that 8.2% of all executions in the world and 15.3% of all executions in Iran were Kurdish citizens. 
 
Also, last year, the death sentences of four child offenders who committed crimes as teenagers have been carried out all over the world, one in Yemen and three in Iran are recorded. Sajjad Sanjari, a Kurdish citizen from Kermanshah, is one of the child offenders who was executed last year.
