Kurdish political asylum seeker detained in Switzerland and there’s concern about his deportation to Iran

Hengaw : A Kurdish political asylum seeker has been detained in Switzerland and may be deported to Iran.

 According to a report received by Hengaw  Human Rights Organization, on Thursday, January 13, 2021, a Kurdish political asylum seeker with the identity of Saleh Namani was arrested by Swiss police and transferred to an unknown location for deportation to Iran.

 According to an informed source, Saleh Namani is from Piranshahr and left Iranian Kurdistan about 6 years ago due to pressure from Iranian intelligence and went to Switzerland as a refugee.

 Saleh Namani is a member of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) and h asylum application was declined twice in the last six years. 
According to the asylum laws, he must be deported to his country of origin.

 The Hengaw human rights organization, while expressing concern about the possibility of deportation of this Kurdish political asylum seeker to Iran, calls on all human rights organizations to do their utmost to prevent the deportation of this political activist back .
