Saman Miraki, 36, a civil and environmental activist from Dehgolan, who was arrested by security forces in Nowruz, has been sentenced to six months in prison by Branch 1 of the Sanandaj Revolutionary Court headed by Judge Hossein Saeedi.

A relative of Miraki's family told Hengaw, "The sentence was issued on charges of collaborating with one of the Kurdish opposition parties of the government and has been suspended for two years." The last hearing of the charges against Saman Miraki, Arman Salimi, Ehsan Bahrami, Omid Asadi, and Omid Sheikhi was held on Saturday, June 28, and the other four people have been acquitted of the charges.

Saman Miraki was arrested on Wednesday, March 23, after attending the Nowruz celebration at the Sanandaj Children's Park and summoning the city's IRGC. On Thursday, April 7, after 15 days of detention, he was temporarily released on 600 million Tomans bail until the end of the trial.

It is worth mentioning that Saman Miraki was deprived of access to a lawyer during his detention. Hengaw had previously reported that Saman Miraki, Arman Salimi, and Omid Sheikhi all had been beaten and disrespected in the IRGC Intelligence Detention Center, and their hair had been shaved by officers of this security institution.
