Another arrest made amid ongoing arrests on Kurdish residents in Mahabad

As part of the ongoing wave of arrests targeting Kurdish individuals in Mahabad, another man, identified as Abdullah Qoveh, has been arrested by IRGC intelligence forces, bringing the total number of the individuals arrested in the city to 13.
According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on the evening of Monday, December 16, 2024, Abdullah Qoveh, a 40-year-old resident of the village of "Kolijeh" near Mahabad, was arrested in the city by IRGC intelligence forces.
Based on data recorded by Hengaw’s Statistics and Documentation Center, more than 13 Kurdish individuals from Mahabad have been arrested by security agencies in recent days. Hengaw has confirmed the identities of 13 detainees, as follows:
1- Abdullah Qoveh
2- Rahman Dana
3- Salar Shamsi Borhan
4- Rebwar Rasouli
5- Ayub Rasouli
6- Osman (Shovaneh) Jahani-Far
7- Yusef Qal
8- Aram Mabzuleh
9- Zaniar Seyed-Ahmadi
10- Siamand Seyed-Ahmadi
11- Qader Kharaman-Far
12- Kamal Masoudi
13- Jalal Sadafi
According to informed sources, these 13 individuals have been transferred to a security detention facility in Urmia. Efforts by their families to obtain information about their fate and current condition have so far been unsuccessful.
As of the time of this report, no precise details are available regarding the reasons for the arrests, the charges brought against them, their place of detention, or their situation.
