Afshin Tavassoli and Kamran Jangali arrested in Mahabad and Oshnavieh

Iranian security forces have arrested at least two Kurds, Afshin Tavassoli in Mahabad and Kamran Jangali in Oshnavieh, over the past two days amid a continuing wave of arrests of Kurdish individuals. Both were transferred to undisclosed locations.
According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Intelligence Department forces raided Tavassoli’s family home in Mahabad in the early hours of Wednesday, August 26, and arrested the 50-year-old without presenting a warrant.
Meanwhile, Jangali, a resident of Oshnavieh, was arrested by Intelligence Department forces at his home on the evening of Monday, August 24, and transferred to an undisclosed location.
The reasons for their arrests, the charges against them, and their places of detention remain unknown.
