Bahá’í adherent Arshia Behinaeen arrested with excessive force in Isfahan

Arshia Behinaeen, a Bahá’í adherent residing in Isfahan, was violently arrested by agents of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Ministry of Intelligence.

According to information obtained by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Mr. Behinaeen was detained on Friday, December 6, 2024, during a gathering of Bahá’í adherents on the outskirts of Isfahan.

Eyewitnesses and informed sources report that Intelligence Ministry agents employed excessive violence during the arrest, tying Mr. Behinaeen to a pole before transferring him to an undisclosed location.

Additionally, it has been reported that security forces confiscated dozens of mobile phones belonging to the Bahá’í participants present at the gathering.

As of now, no further information has been released regarding the charges against Mr. Behinaeen or his current whereabouts.
