Hengaw – Thursday, June 25, 2026
Iranian authorities have detained Saeid Hasani, a 37-year-old Baha'i resident of Shiraz, as they continue to intensify their systematic crackdown on Baha'is across Iran. Intelligence agents of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) violently arrested him and transferred him to Adelabad Prison in Shiraz.
According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, IRGC intelligence agents arrested Hasani at approximately 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at his workplace in Shiraz without presenting a warrant.
After the arrest, the agents took Hasani to his home, where they conducted a thorough search and confiscated personal electronic devices, including mobile phones and other digital equipment belonging to him and his family. Upon completing the search, they transferred him to the quarantine ward of Adelabad Prison in Shiraz.
Hasani was previously arrested in July 2016 because of his religious beliefs. After spending several months in pretrial detention, he was released on bail and was later acquitted by a court.
The authorities have not disclosed the reasons for his latest detention, any charges against him, or whether it is connected to his previous case.
