Female prisoner executed in Zanjan Central Prison

The death sentence of Ameneh Alipour, a Turkish female prisoner convicted of “premeditated murder,” was carried out in Zanjan Central Prison. She is the ninth Turkish woman executed in Iran this year.
According to a report obtained by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the execution took place at dawn on Saturday, December 7, 2024. Ms. Alipour, 37, had been arrested three years ago on charges of premeditated murder and was subsequently sentenced to death by the judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
As of this report, state media, including outlets affiliated with the judiciary, have not announced or confirmed Ms. Alipour’s execution.
Statistics compiled by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights' Statistics and Documentation Center reveal that at least nine Turkish women have been executed in the prisons of Iran this year, with charges ranging from premeditated murder to drug-related offenses.
