Four Prisoners, including a woman, executed in Sari Central Prison

The death sentences of four prisoners, including a woman named Efat Hamedi, as well as Yousef Sattari, Manouchehr Hedayati, and Jamal Asgarabadi, were carried out in Sari Central Prison, the capital of Mazandaran Province. These individuals had been convicted of premeditated murder and drug-related offenses.
According to reports received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the executions were conducted at dawn on Tuesday, December 17, 2024.
Efat Hamedi, approximately 35 years old, had been arrested four years ago on charges of killing her husband. She was sentenced to death by the judicial system of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Sources state that she was the mother of a 9-year-old son and had been taking antidepressant medication prior to her arrest.
Yousef Sattari, a 38-year-old resident of Sari, was arrested three years ago for the murder of a friend during a financial dispute. He, too, was sentenced to death by the judiciary.
Simultaneously, the executions of Manouchehr Hedayati and Jamal Asgarabadi were carried out. Hedayati, aged 47 and a resident of Babol, had been arrested three years ago and sentenced to death on drug-related charges. Similarly, 42-year-old Jamal Asgarabadi, a resident of Sharifabad, Sari, was arrested on drug-related charges and later sentenced to death.
