Iran executes fifteen prisoners across the country

The death sentences of fifteen prisoners, including one woman, have been carried out in prisons across Esfarayen, Shiraz, Isfahan, Mashhad, Bojnurd, Karaj, Khorramabad, Zanjan, Gorgan, Qazvin, and Birjand. The inmates had been convicted of premeditated murder, drug-related offenses, or rape.
According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Hormoz Nejati was executed at dawn on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, in Esfarayen Prison in North Khorasan Province. He had previously been arrested on drug-related charges.
On the same day, two Gilak prisoners from Rasht — Ali Saye-Afkan and Mehrdad Pourhassan — were executed in Lakan Prison on drug-related charges.
Also on Wednesday, the death sentence of Hamid Yousefzahi, 38, from Tabasin village in Nehbandan County, was carried out in Adelabad Prison in Shiraz. He had been arrested six years earlier on drug-related charges.
That same day, Sadegh Rafiei, from Isfahan, was executed in Dastgerd Prison after being sentenced to death on a charge of rape.
In Vakilabad Prison in Mashhad, the death sentences of two prisoners — Mahin Rahimi (the only woman among those executed) and Seyed Javad Tabatabaei — were implemented. Both had been convicted of premeditated murder.
Separately, Ezzatollah Nashri, convicted on drug-related charges, and Davood Najafi, from Karaj and convicted of murder, were executed in the prisons of Bojnurd and Ghezel Hesar (Karaj).
Two Lor prisoners from Borujerd — Karam Yousefian, 42, and Heshmat Shiravand, 48, both fathers of two — were executed on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, in Khorramabad Central Prison. They had been arrested three years and four months ago in a joint drug-related case.
On the same day, Mehdi Fathipour, 24, from Gorgan, convicted of premeditated murder, and Karim Rafiei, a Turkish man from Zanjan convicted on the same charge, were executed in the prisons of Gorgan and Zanjan. Fathipour had been arrested at age 19 on suspicion of killing his friend.
Continuing Wednesday’s executions, Noushad Amiri, convicted on drug-related charges, was executed in Qazvin Prison.
As part of the recent nationwide wave of executions, the death sentence of Jafar Shokri was carried out at dawn on Sunday, November 23, 2025, in Birjand Prison in South Khorasan Province. He had been convicted of premeditated murder.
None of these executions have been reported by Iranian state media or judiciary-affiliated outlets.
