The case of Farhad Tahazadeh, 24, and Farzad Tahazadeh, 23, two brothers from Oshnaviyeh who were detained during the most recent popular uprising and resistance, as well as Karwan Shahiparvaneh, was referred to the third branch of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Court in Urmia after an indictment was issued.

According to a report obtained by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, these three residents of Oshnavieh were recently charged with enmity against God and corruption on earth by the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Court in Urmia and the Public Prosecutor's Office's Sixth Investigation Branch.

It is important to note that Masoud Shamsnejad and Saleh Nikbakht, the selected attorneys of Farhad and Farzad Tahzadeh, just received access to their clients' files a few days ago.

Moharebeh (enmity against God) and corruption on earth charges are punishable under the Islamic Penal Code with the death penalty for the offender.

Farhad and Farzad Tahazadeh were arrested in October 2022 in connection with protests and a popular uprising in Oshnavieh. After a period of interrogation with torture, these two brothers were transferred to Urmia prison.

Also, Karwan Shahiparvaneh was kidnapped by IRGC intelligence forces on Wednesday, October 24, 2022, and he is still in prison.

One of the relatives of these three citizens told Hengaw: "They were subjected to severe physical and mental torture during their detention to gain a forced confession."
