A detained citizen from Bukan, named Sherzad Ahmadi Nezhad, died under torture in the intelligence detention center in Urmia.
According to the report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on March 15, 2023, Sherzad Ahmadi Nezhad, 41, of Bukan, who was abducted by government forces last month, died under torture in the intelligence detention center in Urmia.
According to an informed source, the security agencies contacted Ahmadi Nezhd's family two days ago and announced that they should provide bail for Sherzad's temporary release, but yesterday they informed his family that Sherzad died due to a heart attack.
"We have been informed through our sources that Sherzad died under torture." One of the relatives of this family told Hengaw.
Hengaw has been informed that Sherzad Ahmadi Nezhad was arrested on February 15th, 2023, along with another citizen from Bukan, Khaleq Mohammad Nezhad, by the intelligence forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and taken to the detention center of this security institution in Urmia. There is no exact information about the fate of Khaleq Mohammad Nezhad.
It should be mentioned that Sherzad Ahmadinejad had a short phone call with his family on the 19th day of his detention and informed them that he was in the detention center in Urmia.
Sherzad Ahmadi Nezhad is 41 years old, married, and the father of three children.
