Askar Nami, a prisoner hailing from Tabriz, was executed in the city’s central prison. This prisoner had previously been condemned to death for the charge of homicide.
According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on the morning of Tuesday, September 26, 2023, the death sentence of Askar Nami, a 27-year-old inmate in Tabriz Central Prison, was carried out.
Four years ago, Askar Nami was apprehended in connection with a homicide case stemming from a tribal conflict, according to an informed source. Subsequently, the judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran imposed the death sentence upon him.
Notably, the news of Askar Nami’s execution had not been disclosed by government-affiliated media outlets, particularly those closely aligned with the judiciary, until the publication of this report.
