He is Accused of "moharebeh" (waging war against God) if extradited, he will be facing severe consequences including the potential issuance of a death sentence.
According to the reports obtained by the Hengaw organization for human rights, Fardin Mohammadi-Smani, 39 years old asylum seeker from Sanandaj(Sine) is in imminent risk of being deported from Sweden to Iran.
Despite being granted asylum by Sweden in 2018, recent developments place Mr. Mohammadi Kurdish activist in jeopardy of being deported to Iran.
Fardin Mohammadi-Smani was Convicted in 2007 by the Revolutionary Court in Sanandaj, led by chief Judge Hassan Babayi, for charges of "moharebeh" and “canonically outlawed” for collaboration with a Kurdish opposition party, sentenced to ten years imprisonment along with exile.
After serving three years of his sentence, he was released on furlough from Ramhormoz Central Prison in Khuzestan province, subsequently fled the country, never to return.
Hengaw emphasizes that extradition could lead not only facing severe consequences, imprisonment and flogging but also the potential issuance of a death penalty due to his previous charge of "moharebeh."
