The detention of Kurdish activists in Ilam to serve imposed sentences by the Iranian judiciary continues

Two Kurdish individuals from Dehloran in Ilam province, Hossein Bapiwand (Ashouri) and Farshad Ayini, previously detained during the “women, life, freedom” movement, have been detained to serve their two-year prison sentences.
According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights on Saturday, April 6, 2024, after being summoned to the Department of Corrections, Bapiwand and Ayini were detained and transferred to the central prison in Ilam.
They were initially apprehended by government forces stationed in Dehloran on the evening of Tuesday, February 14, 2023, and subsequently transferred to the central prison of Ilam after interrogation.
Bapirvand and Ayini had previously been detained after being summoned to Dehloran Court on Sunday, August 13, 2023. They were sentenced to two years in prison each for “propaganda against the government” by Branch One of the Revolutionary Court of Ilam in January 2024.
