Kurdish Journalist Arrested by Iranian Authorities: Iraj Mohammadzadeh Taken into Custody

Iraj Mohammadzadeh, a Kurdish journalist and activist from Javanroud in Kermanshah province (Kermashan), has been arrested by the security institutions of the Islamic Republic of Iran. He is also a PhD student in political science.
According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights on Sunday, April 7, 2024, Iraj Mohammadzadeh, a 45-year-old journalist from Javanroud, was arrested by Iranian security agencies after being summoned to the court of this city by order of the prosecutor.
Sources indicate that Mohammadzadeh, a journalist, media activist, and manager of the Telegram channel "Titer-e Gharb," as well as a PhD student in political science at one of Tehran universities, was transferred to one of the detention centers of the Iranian security institutions in Kermanshah following his arrest.
As of now, there is no precise information available regarding the reasons for the arrest, the charges, or the fate of Iraj Mohammadzadeh.
