Ongoing Crackdown on the Kurdish Participants in Nawroz Celebrations by Iranian Authorities.

In the ongoing crackdown on the participants of the Nawroz celebrations in Kurdistan, Faraj Arsen, from the Malakashahi district of Ilam province, was detained by Iranian Islamic Republic security forces and transferred to an undisclosed location.

According to a report received by the Hengaw organization for Human Rights, at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, April 3rd, 2024, intelligence forces of the Revolutionary Guards raided Faraj Arsen's residence in Malakashahi city, Ilam province, and apprehended him.

Hengaw has learned that Faraj Arsen was arrested in connection with special Nawroz celebrations that have been taking place despite threats and prohibition from security forces in various parts of Ilam, including Malakashahi, Karzan, and Holeylan.

As of the time of compiling this report, there is no precise information about the custodial state and whereabouts of Faraj Arsen, and his family's efforts in this regard have gotten nowhere.
