Danial Mohammadi remains detained without access to lawyer or family visits

Intelligence Department forces arrested Danial Mohammadi, a 27-year-old Kurdish man from Sanandaj (Sine), nine days ago. He remains in legal limbo at a security detention facility.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Mohammadi, from Tangisar village, was arrested by Intelligence Department forces in Sanandaj on Tuesday, August 11, 2026.

Sources told Hengaw that a week after his arrest, Mohammadi was allowed one very brief phone call with his family, during which he was able only to inform them of his detention.

Authorities have not disclosed the reasons for his arrest, any charges against him, or his exact place of detention. He has also been denied access to the lawyer of his choosing and family visits.
