Unexploded ordnance takes the life of a Young Kurdish Woman in Kermanshah, Iran

In an incident involving unexploded ordnance leftover from the Iran/Iraq war in Gilan-e Gharb in Kermashan (Kermanshah) province, a young Kurdish woman by the name of Akhtar Moradi lost her life. 

According to a report obtained by the Hengaw organization for human rights, this tragic event occurred on Sunday, April 21, 2024, in the village of Gur-e-Sefid in Gilan-e Gharb, taking the life of a young woman due to severe injuries from the blast.

Akhtar Moradi was transferred to the “Alzehra” hospital in Gilanegharb on Saturday, April 20th, where she passed due to the severity of her condition.

Based on the information provided to Hengaw, the family of this young victim has been making a living by scavenging and reselling reusable and recyclable materials.
