Kurdish Futsal Player Arrested by Iranian Security Forces

Afshin Nejadaziz, a Kurdish futsal player from Urmia, has been apprehended by Iranian security forces, and his current whereabouts remain unknown.
According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Friday, April 19, 2024, Nejadaziz was detained by the intelligence forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Urmia after protesting against racist slogans by the presenter during a futsal match. Following his arrest, he was transferred to an undisclosed location.
Sources from Hengaw indicate that during a futsal game in Urmia, the presenter chanted racist slogans, prompting Nejadaziz to protest.
