Razavi Khorasan, Iran: The Execution of Three Prisoners, including an Afghan National

Ismail Ismailzadeh and Mohammad Amin Mohammadpour, along with an Afghan citizen, who were previously sentenced to death for drug-related crimes, have been executed in Taybad Central Prison, Razavi Khorasan Province.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at least three prisoners were executed early in the morning on Sunday, April 21, 2024, in Taybad Central Prison.

Informed sources state that Ismail Ismailzadeh, 37, and Mohammad Amin Mohammadpour, 38, both Sunni adherents of Taybat city, were among those executed. The identity of the Afghan citizen is currently under investigation.

These three individuals were arrested four years ago in two separate cases and subsequently sentenced to death by the Taybat Revolutionary Court.

The news of the execution of these three prisoners has not been announced in government media, particularly in media outlets close to the judiciary, at the time of this report.
