Armed Conflict between Iranian Border Regiment Forces and Unidentified Group Results in Three Border Guard Casualties

An armed conflict occurred between the border regiment forces stationed at the Hengehzhal border area near Baneh, and an unidentified group, resulting in the death of at least one border guard and injuries to two others.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at 1 AM (local time) on Thursday, May 2, 2024, an armed conflict erupted at the Hengehzhal border area near Baneh, Kurdishan (Sanandaj) province, between the Iranian border guards and an unidentified group. As a result, a member of the border regiment forces named Farzin Delian from Kermanshah (also known as Kermashan) was killed, and two others were injured.

According to sources from Hengaw, several ambulances were dispatched to the site following the incident.

As of the time this report was prepared, no party or group has claimed responsibility for the clash.

It should be noted that over the past years, the border guards stationed at the Hengehzhal border area have killed dozens of Kolbars by direct gunfire at close range.
