Death Sentence for Three Prisoners Executed in Iranian Prisons

Simultaneously with the execution of the Kurdish religious prisoner Khsraw Besharat, the death sentences of three other prisoners named Mohammad Karim Fazeli (Garavand), Sirous Hayatbini, and Mohammad Reza Rahim Poor were carried out in Ghezel Hesar prison in Karaj.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization Human Rights, on the morning of Wednesday, May 15, 2024, the death sentences of three prisoners named Karim Garavand and Sirous Hayatbini, prisoners from Kuhdasht, along with Mohammad Reza Rahim Poor from Noorabad, Lorestan province, were carried out in Ghezel Hesar prison in Karaj.

These three prisoners were transferred to solitary confinement yesterday for execution.

Earlier, a source informed Hengaw that “these three prisoners were previously arrested on charges related to drug crimes. Subsequently, they had been sentenced to death by the judicial system of the Islamic Republic of Iran."

The news of the execution of these three prisoners has not been announced in the government media, especially the media close to the judiciary, until the time of writing this news.
