Execution count at Kermanshah Central Prison rises to three

The death sentence of a Kurdish prisoner, identified as Sajad Habibi from Ilam, previously convicted on drug-related charges, has been carried out at Kermanshah Central Prison (Dizelabad). Hengaw had earlier reported the execution of two other inmates at the same facility.

According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the execution of 38-year-old Habibi was implemented at Kermanshah Central Prison at dawn on Saturday, August 9, 2025.

Habibi had been arrested six years ago on drug-related charges and sentenced to death by the judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Hengaw had previously reported the execution of a Lor prisoner, identified as Bahador Elyasi, 31, from Khorramabad, and a Kurdish prisoner, identified as Soleiman Naseri Khez from Kermanshah (Kermashan), in the same prison. Elyasi had been imprisoned for three years and Naseri for approximately five years, both on drug-related charges, before receiving death sentences from the Iranian judiciary.

The executions have not been announced by state media, particularly outlets affiliated with the judiciary.
