Execution of Amir Hosseinpour and Hamid Sarlak carried out in Ilam and Dezful

The death sentences of two prisoners, Amir Hosseinpour and Hamid Sarlak, were carried out in the central prisons of Ilam and Dezful. They had previously been convicted on charges of premeditated murder and drug-related offenses.

According to a report received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the death sentence of Sarlak, a Lor prisoner from Dezful, was carried out at dawn on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, in Dezful Central Prison, Khuzestan Province. He had been arrested on charges of premeditated murder and was ultimately sentenced to death by the Iranian judiciary.

In a separate case, the death sentence of a Kurdish prisoner, Hosseinpour, 34, from Ilam, was carried out at dawn on Monday, August 11, 2025 in Ilam Central Prison. He had been arrested four years earlier on drug-related charges and was later sentenced to death by the Iranian judiciary.

The executions of these two prisoners have not been reported by state media, particularly outlets close to the judiciary.
