Kurdish citizen, Mohammad Amin Mohammadi, detained to serve his prison sentence

Mohammad Amin Mohammadi, a 61-year-old Kurdish citizen from Piranshahr, West Azerbaijan (Urmia) province was arrested and transferred to Naghadeh Central Prison to serve his two-year prison sentence.
According to the report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Monday, June 10, 2024, Mohammad Amin Mohammadi, also known as Mina Molla Bayizi from Tamarchin village in Piranshahr, was arrested and subsequently transferred to Naghadeh Central Prison.
Mohammad Amin Mohammadi was previously sentenced to a two-year prison term by the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Court in Piranshahr for charges of "collaborating with the Kurdistan Democratic Party-Iran." This verdict was later affirmed by the appeals court.
On Monday, September 4, 2023, Iranian security forces arrested this Kurdish citizen on charges of resorting to violence and transferred him to the Iranian Intelligence detention center in Urmia.
After 75 days in detention and undergoing interrogation, he was temporarily released on bail pending the conclusion of the legal proceedings.
