Urmia: Kurdish language teacher Susan Hassanzadeh, released on bail

Susan Hassanzadeh, a civil activist and Kurdish language teacher from Bukan, was released from Urmia Central Prison after 28 days of detention.
According to the report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, Susan Hassanzadeh, a civil activist and Kurdish language teacher from Bukan, West Azerbaijan (Urmia) province was temporarily released from the central prison by posting bail of 800 million tomans until the end of the proceedings.
It’s worth mentioning that on May 15, 2024, the Iranian Intelligence forces stormed into her house without presenting any warrants, arrested her, and then searched her house by resorting to violence.
Hengaw has been informed that Susan Hassanzadeh was denied access to a lawyer during her detention and had only a short phone call with her family.
