Kurdish Language Teacher Susan Hassanzadeh Arrested; Her Condition Remains Unknown

Susan Hassanzadeh, a Kurdish civil activist and Kurdish language teacher from Bukan, was arrested four days ago by Iranian security forces who reportedly used excessive force. Her current whereabouts and condition remain unknown.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, Iranian Intelligence Forces arrested Susan Hassanzadeh at her home in Bukan.

A knowledgeable source indicated that Hassanzadeh was apprehended without a legal warrant. The arrest was accompanied by violence and included a search of her residence.

Following her arrest, Susan Hassanzadeh was taken to an undisclosed location. There is currently no specific information regarding her whereabouts or the charges against her.
