Death Sentence of a Prisoner Carried Out in Tabriz Central Prison

The death sentence of a Kurdish prisoner named Khaled Jahangiri was carried out in Tabriz Central Prison. This prisoner had previously been sentenced to death on charges related to drug-related charges.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, in the early hours of Thursday, August 22, 2024, the death sentence of Khaled Jahangiri, a father of two and a resident of the village of "Balu" in the suburbs of Urmia, was carried out in Tabriz Central Prison.

According to an informed source, Khaled Jahangiri had been arrested five years ago on drug-related charges and was sentenced to death by the Iranian judiciary.

To date, the report of this prisoner’s execution has not been announced in state media media, particularly those affiliated with the judiciary.
