The Death Sentence of a Baloch Prisoner Secretly Carried Out in Bam Prison

The death sentence of a Baloch prisoner, identified as Habibullah Mohammadzehi, who had previously been sentenced to death for drug-related charges, was carried out secretly in Bam Central Prison without informing his family.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at dawn on Sunday, October 6, 2024, the death sentence of Habibullah Mohammadzehi, a 45-year-old Baloch prisoner from Mirjaveh in Sistan and Baluchestan province, was carried out in Bam Central Prison in Kerman province.

An informed source stated that this Baloch prisoner was transferred to solitary confinement on Friday in preparation for the execution, which was carried out secretly without informing his family or allowing a final meeting with them.

Habibullah Mohammadzehi had been arrested three years ago and sentenced to death by the Iranian Judiciary on drug-related charges.

To date, the news of the execution of this prisoner has not been announced by Iranian state media, particularly those affiliated with the judiciary.
