Three Arab civil activists from Shushtar arrested: their whereabouts remain unknown

Ali Chabavi, Aqil Farajollah Kaab, and Hossein Kaabi, three Arab civil activists from Shushtar in Khuzestan Province, have been arrested in recent days by security forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and their whereabouts remain unknown.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Friday, October 25, 2024, Ali Chabavi, Aqil Farajollah Kaab, and Hossein Kaabi were arrested in the city of Shushtar, and their whereabouts and conditions have remained unclear after ten days.

Sources report that these civil activists were transferred to an undisclosed location following their arrest, and no information is currently available regarding the charges against them.

It is noteworthy that Ali Chabavi was previously arrested by security forces in Shushtar in late June 2024. After two months of detention, he was temporarily released pending the conclusion of his legal proceedings.
