Elham Salehi Sentenced to Prison and Fined

Elham Salehi, a civil rights activist, has been sentenced by the Islamic Republic of Iran judiciary to six months of suspended imprisonment and a fine of 20 million tomans.
According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Elham Salehi was convicted on charges of "spreading falsehoods," "disturbing public opinion by insulting Ebrahim Raisi," and "propaganda against the state," resulting in a six-month prison sentence and a fine of 20 million tomans. The prison sentence has been suspended for a duration of five years.
It is noteworthy that this individual's case was initiated following her reaction to the death of Ebrahim Raisi.
Previously, security forces had raided and searched Elham Salehi's home, and confiscated her personal belongings. This individual was summoned to the prosecutor's office and formally charged in November 2024.
