Security forces arrest 17-year-old Baloch teen in Sarbaz County

A 17-year-old Baloch boy from Sarbaz County in Sistan and Baluchistan Province, identified as Amir Baluch, was forcibly arrested by security forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran and transferred to an undisclosed location.
According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Sunday, January 26, 2025, Amir Baluch, a Sunni seminary student from the village of Ouriz in the Sarkur region of Sarbaz County, was detained by agents of the Ministry of Intelligence. The arrest was carried out without the presentation of an arrest warrant.
Reports from Haalvsh state that the arrest occurred in the village of Malekabad, also located in Sarbaz County. Witnesses noted that the arrest involved the use of excessive force by the security forces.
Efforts by the teenager’s family to obtain information about his whereabouts and condition have, thus far, been unsuccessful.
As of the time this report, no details have been made available regarding the reasons for his arrest, or the charges filed against him.
