Baha’i adherent arrested by security forces in Karaj

Erfan Eshraghi, a Baha’i adherent residing in Golshahr, Karaj, has been arrested by the Intelligence Department of the Islamic Republic of Iran. His whereabouts are unknown.

According to a report received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, Erfan Eshraghi was arrested by intelligence forces.

A source close to Eshraghi’s family reported that intelligence agents arrested him as he was leaving his home. They later raided his residence, conducted a search, and confiscated laptops, mobile phones, books, and religious photos belonging to him and his family.

The source also revealed that Eshraghi was scheduled to undergo kidney surgery on the same day but was arrested before he could go to the hospital.

As of the time of this report, no information is available regarding the reasons for his arrest, the charges against him, or his whereabouts.
