Newroz Celebrations in Kurdistan: Five Kurds arrested in Marivan

Five Kurds from Marivan—Aram Nikpey, Mohammad Nikpey, Mohammad Eshtak, Tahsin Dadras, and Belal Dadras—were arrested by security forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran in connection with Newroz celebrations in Kurdistan.
According to a report received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights Organization, on Friday, March 21, 2025, Aram Nikpey (38), Mohammad Nikpey (28), and Mohammad Eshtak (23), all residents of the village of Ney in Marivan, as well as Tahsin Dadras (31) and Belal Dadras (36), both residents of the village of Sardosh, were arrested without arrest warrants.
Sources familiar with the matter stated that their arrests are related to the recent Newroz celebrations in Kurdistan. Despite repeated efforts by the families of those detained, security authorities have refused to provide any information regarding their whereabouts or legal status.
