Baloch prisoner Saadollah Gorgij executed in Zahedan Central Prison

The death sentence for Saadollah Gorgij, a Baloch man from Saravan in Sistan and Baluchestan Province, was carried out in Zahedan Central Prison. He had previously been sentenced to death on drug-related charges.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Saadollah Gorgij, 29 years old and from the village of Sajou in Saravan, was executed on early Sunday morning, April 20, 2025, in Zahedan Prison.

Sources with knowledge of the case say the prisoner had been arrested four years ago and was sentenced to death by the judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran on drug-related charges.

At the time of this report’s publication, the execution had not yet been reported by state media—including outlets affiliated with the judiciary.
