Hengaw – Saturday, June 21, 2025

Behrouz Yazdanpanah, a 56-year-old Kurdish resident of Bukan, has been violently arrested by agents of the Iranian Intelligence Department and transferred to a security detention facility in Urmia. He is among many civilians detained during the “Jin, Jiyan, Azadi” (Woman, Life, Freedom) movement.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Yazdanpanah was arrested on Thursday, June 19, 2025, during a forceful raid on his home. Informed sources confirmed that intelligence agents did not present a warrant and physically assaulted both Yazdanpanah and his wife during the arrest.

This is not the first time Yazdanpanah has been targeted by authorities. On October 26, 2022, he was abducted by government forces in Saqqez, following the 40th-day memorial ceremony for Jina Amini. He was held incommunicado and later transferred to a Tehran detention center on November 9, 2022.

No official charges have been announced, and his current condition and exact location remain unknown.
