Iranian authorities execute Turkish woman Maliheh Haghi in Tabriz

Iranian authorities have executed Maliheh Haghi, a 34-year-old Turkish woman, at Tabriz Central Prison.

According to information obtained by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Haghi was hanged at dawn on Tuesday, August 26, 2025.

The Iran Human Rights Organization reported that she had been arrested six years ago on charges of murdering her fiancé, who was also her cousin, and was later sentenced to death.

State media, including outlets close to the judiciary, have not published news of her execution.
