Hengaw – Thursday, August 28, 2025
Baha’i adherent Keyhan Maqsoudi, a 49-year-old photographer from Urmia, has been detained for more than two months and remains in a state of uncertainty in a security facility. He was first arrested by security forces on June 20, 2025, at his workplace in Urmia.
According to information obtained by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Maqsoudi has now spent 69 days in custody. During this time, he has been denied his basic rights as a detainee, including access to a lawyer.
Following a lengthy period of interrogation, Maqsoudi was transferred to Urmia Prison. However, a few days ago, and without any clear reason, he was once again returned to a security detention center.
Maqsoudi has previously been moved between prison and security facilities, leaving his legal and personal situation unclear.
Authorities have not disclosed the reasons for his arrest or the charges against him.
