Oshnavieh court sentences three Kurds to 10 years on political charges

Three Kurdish men from Oshnavieh (Shno), Yaser Sharifian, Rashid Faqizadeh, and Omid Ebrahimi, have been sentenced by the Revolutionary Court of Oshnavieh to a combined total of 10 years in prison on political charges.
According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the court sentenced Omid Ebrahimi to five years in prison on charges of “acting against national security, propaganda against the government, and collaboration with the Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan.” Yaser Sharifian was sentenced to four years on charges of “propaganda and action against the government, possession of a Tepper firearm, and collaboration with the party.” Rashid Faqizadeh was given one year on the charge of “spreading public anxiety.”
The three men were arrested at dawn on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, when Iranian security forces raided their homes. On June 1, they were released on temporary bail of one billion tomans each, pending the outcome of judicial proceedings.
These Kurdish men had previously been pursued and targeted by Iranian security and judicial authorities for their political and civic activities.
