Navab Qazalbash arrested in Tehran to serve prison sentence

Navab Qazalbash, an artist and former board member of the Iranian Graphic Designers Association, has been arrested to serve a four-month prison sentence and transferred to Evin Prison in Tehran.

According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Qazalbash was taken to Evin Prison on Sunday, August 17, 2025, to begin serving his sentence.

His lawyer, Mostafa Nili, stated that the conviction stemmed from the publication of a critical graphic design, for which Branch 23 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court sentenced him to four months in prison on the charge of “propaganda against the state.”
