Danial Moghadam, a singer currently held in Tehran’s Evin Prison, has been sentenced by the Iranian judiciary to eight months in prison along with supplementary punishments.
According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Sunday, August 10, 2025, Branch 26 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court, presided over by Judge Iman Afshari, sentenced Moghadam to eight months in prison on charges of “propaganda against the state.”
He was also given two years of exile from Tehran Province and neighboring provinces, as well as a two-year travel ban. The verdict has recently been officially communicated to him.
The charges against Moghadam were based on publishing content on social media and sending images to foreign media outlets.
Moghadam was first arrested on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, by security forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Due to his inability to post bail, he was transferred to detention following an arrest order issued by Branch 3 of the Prosecutor’s Office of the Tehran Revolutionary Court.
After his release, during the war between Iran and Israel, he was rearrested on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, in Shiraz by security forces. He was initially transferred to the Greater Tehran Prison before being returned to Evin Prison.
