Iran executes five prisoners, including a woman, in Arak, Zahedan, Miandoab, and Sabzevar prisons

The death sentences of five prisoners, including one woman whose identity has not yet been confirmed, were carried out in Arak, Zahedan, Miandoab, and Sabzevar prisons. The prisoners had been convicted in separate cases on charges of “premeditated murder” or “drug-related offenses.”
According to information obtained by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at dawn on Sunday, September 21, 2025, Rasoul Yari was executed in Arak Central Prison after conviction on drug-related charges.
On the same day, Abdolaziz Qaljai, 35, a Baloch prisoner from Zahedan and father of four, was executed in Zahedan Central Prison. According to the Baloch news outlet Haavsh, he had been arrested three years earlier on drug-related charges and sentenced to death by the Iranian judiciary.
Earlier, on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, Ahmad Hashemi, 28, a Turkish prisoner from Miandoab, was executed in Miandoab Prison. He was arrested two years ago on charges of killing his brother-in-law during a family dispute in Chahar Borj, Miandoab, and later sentenced to death. Following his execution, his brother attacked a supermarket owned by the victim’s relatives, killing two people in an act of revenge.
That same day, two prisoners — Peyman Khani and a woman whose identity has not yet been confirmed — were executed in Sabzevar Central Prison, Razavi Khorasan Province. They were arrested together five years earlier on charges of murdering a middle-aged man and sentenced to death.
None of these executions have been acknowledged by Iranian state media.
