Hengaw – Thursday, September 25, 2025

Derakhshan Rahimi, a Kurdish woman from Sanandaj, has been transferred to the women’s ward of Sanandaj Central Prison after three months of detention and interrogation by the Intelligence Organization of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

Rahimi was arrested during the 12-day war between Iran and Israel and, throughout her detention, was denied access to her lawyer and family, who were left without any information about her situation.

According to information obtained by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Friday, September 19, 2025, Rahimi was moved to the prison after three months in the IRGC Intelligence detention center. Authorities have accused her of collaborating with Israel.

Sources told Hengaw that during her detention she was deprived of her most basic rights, including communication with her family and access to legal counsel. A source added that since her transfer she has been held in the prison’s quarantine cell, where these restrictions continue.

Rahimi was arrested in Sanandaj together with her two brothers. Their fate remains unknown.
