Baha’i adherent Shahram Kashani-Nejad held incommunicado after arrest

Shahram Kashani-Nejad, a Baha’i adherent from Nowshahr in Mazandaran Province, has been held incommunicado since his arrest by agents of the Iranian Intelligence Department two weeks ago. His fate and whereabouts remain unknown.

According to information obtained by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, despite repeated efforts by his family to obtain information, no details have been provided regarding his condition or location. Relatives have expressed deep concern over the lack of accountability and unanswered inquiries.

Kashani-Nejad was arrested on Sunday, September 14, 2025, when intelligence agents raided his home without presenting an arrest warrant. He was taken to an undisclosed location.

A source close to the family reported that during the raid, agents searched the residence and confiscated personal belongings belonging to Kashani-Nejad and his family, including mobile phones, a laptop, documents, and cash.

The reasons for his arrest, the charges against him, and his place of detention remain undisclosed.
