Hengaw – Saturday, September 27, 2025

Two Kurdish men, Ehsan Rostami and his cousin Ramin Rostami, remain arbitrarily detained in Evin Prison in Tehran nearly 40 days after their arrest, without access to due process or basic rights.

According to information obtained by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Ehsan Rostami, a 38-year-old cultural activist, and his cousin Ramin Rostami, both from Harsin in Kermanshah (Kermashan) Province, were arrested at their private residence in Tehran on August 20, 2025, by security forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Since then, they have been held in Evin Prison without judicial review.

Sources close to the family reported that the two men have been denied contact with relatives, legal representation, and the right to visits. Their case has been registered at the Evin Prosecutor’s Office in a branch handling political cases, but no proceedings have taken place, leaving them in a state of uncertainty.

Family members have repeatedly approached the prosecutor’s office over the past weeks, but despite persistent efforts, they have not been given any information regarding the reasons for the arrests or the legal process.
