Five Kurds, including a woman, arrested in Sanandaj and accused of “collaboration with Israel”

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has arrested five Kurds from Sanandaj during the 12-day war between Israel and the Islamic Republic. The group, identified as Derakhshan Rahimi, her brothers Yasin and Rezgar Rahimi, Adnan Mawlaei, and another individual whose identity has not yet been confirmed, has been charged in a joint case with “collaboration with Israel” and “links to Komala.” They are currently being held in Sanandaj Central Prison.
According to information obtained by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the five were transferred to Sanandaj Central Prison after three months in IRGC custody. A fifth detainee, who worked in the Rahimi family’s confectionery shop, is also among those charged, though his identity has not yet been established.
Sources reported that Yasin and Rezgar Rahimi were moved from the IRGC Intelligence detention center to Sanandaj Central Prison on September 3, 2025.
Hengaw had previously reported that on Friday, September 19, 2025, Derakhshan Rahimi, a 43-year-old Kurd from Sanandaj, was transferred to the women’s ward of Sanandaj Central Prison after three months in IRGC detention.
Throughout their detention, the five have been denied access to lawyers and barred from any contact with their families.
